Representatives of the four Governance institutions of the Uberaba Geopark Project – City Hall, ABCZ, UFTM and Sebrae – signed, this Thursday (06/23/2022), the Letter of Intent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The objective is to present the Project to Unesco so that Uberaba is elevated to the category “Aspirant” in the official candidacy with the Unesco World Geoparks Program. Thus, the Uberaba Geopark Project will become part of a select list of territories to be designated as special areas of the Planet.
This is an important stage in the official candidacy process, as Uberaba will become the 1st Unesco World Geopark in Minas Gerais, providing opportunities throughout the territory for new niches promoted by sustainable development that will strengthen local tourism.
